S3ADRAW V1.3 - README --------------------- This file is for users of V1.2 who wish to upgrade to V1.3. New users should use the file README.NEW, coupled with the full instructions. To upgrade from V1.2, simply replace the old DRAWS3A2.APP file with the new DRAWS3A3.APP. To make the setup more configurable, I have taken out the Help file as a separate overlay, and made it optional. If you do want to use On-Line Help then put the DRAWS3AH.HLP file in an \APP\S3ADRAW\ Sub-Directory. The first major change you will notice that is that I have cut the price of registration. I'm afraid market forces have forced me into that, the program was not selling, and there are other, more powerful drawing programs around at a similar price. I can sympathise with anyone who may feel they have been penalised by registering early, so I am prepared to offer a free registration to any of my other programs (except S3ABANK), as a form of compensation. Please let me know if you want to take advantage of this offer, details of the programs are in REGISTER.TXT. As far as the program is concerned you will not notice much difference. What has happened is that my official BETA tester, Andy Waller, has been through the program with a fine toothcomb, and identified a large number of bugs, and made some good suggestions on how the program logic could be improved (For example, using the NEW FILE option from the System Screen now takes you directly to the Editor rather than the Viewer). These have all been incorporated. However, you will also see the following major changes: a. If you accidentally start a Zoom, Esc will now cancel it. b. An optional Grid of lines or dots is now available in the Editor. c. When you Import a Picture, you now fine-tune the location before finally accepting it. d. The Info Window now shows the selected colour in Bold, in case you do not have the Status Window in view. e. I have combined the Font and Style options into a single option. f. You can now use the extended character set (ASCII Code 128-254) in the text entry mode. Just hold down the Control key and type in the code. g. I have added a new Tool in the Editor called 'Export Area', to allow you to save part of the screen as a PIC file. Hope you like the improvements. If you get a chance, you can always visit my home page on the World-Wide Web, where there are full details of all my programs, and news of any upgrades or enhancements. The address is : http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/alanrichey In the future, I intend to leave 'Beta' versions of the next versions of the programs on this site, as each new enhancement is incorporated. If you don't mind taking the odd risk, that will be a way of continually updating your program. Cheers Al
